With an eye for potential in the overlooked, and deeply committed to preservation of our natural world, I scour library book sales, thrift stores, and the occasional recycling bin to find forgotten items that will become the basis for my art. Focused primarily on discarded books, my art started with hand bound journals and sketchbooks made from old book covers. More recently, she has developed her art to include handmade and repurposed paper art. My pieces highlight the words and letters found on the pages of rescued and repurposed books, the beautiful designs of repurposed product labels, and the natural texture of handmade paper. Instead of disguising them, I seek to bring attention to these recycled mediums and inspire others to find opportunities in unexpected places.
